The Spider Farmer SF600 is a 4’ grow light in a compact and space efficient form. It’s very thin and has curved edges to help reflect and direct the light more efficiently. These can be great for medium to high light plants depending on the distance. I have been using these for Pinguicula which appreciate medium to high light. The color temperature is a slightly warm hue and much more pleasant than the slight pink/red color that can come from some grow lights.

Lighting:
Lighting is one of the most important aspects of growing carnivorous plants. Most carnivorous plants prefer very strong light, and the best results come from high quality LED grow lights. Not only does it stimulate fast growth, the plants will attain beautiful coloration — bright red tentacles on Sundews, red mouths on Flytraps, pink/purple/red on Tropical Butterworts, and deep reds on Sarracenia just as a few examples (some species will stay green in bright light but will be healthier). Sundews will produce more dew under proper lighting (not usually an issue with water, but lighting)! Bright light can make the plants a bit more compact and robust, but the increased health and better appearance are absolutely worth it.
Using LEDs is simple, and most designs have a dimmer switch to adjust the light intensity. Mount them over your growing area and roughly calculate the light intensity based on distance and dispersion.
Cheap LEDs are too weak, extremely energy inefficient, and limited in spectrum (types of light “color” that plants need). High quality LEDs are essential for healthy plants and will use far less energy and produce less heat (and last for many, many years). I’ve personally vetted and used these LEDs for my plants and can attest to their quality and function.
