Description
Drosera nidiformis (Pietermaritzburg, South Africa) is a subtropical sundew with long vertical petioles and wedge-shaped lamina in an erect rosette. It easy becomes an orange-red color under bright light. It can grow to over 2” tall when fully mature with several dewy leaves. It flowers easily on very tall stalks with pink flowers that readily self-pollinate to produce seed. The seed germinates easily so they can spread into dense clumps over time. This form originates from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
As a subtropical sundew, it has no strict dormancy requirements, though it should grow back from the roots after light frost. It easy spreads by seed and roots to form dense clumps of plants standing vertically in their pot.
Packs will have 30+ seeds.

Climate: Mild climates of 40-90F, low to moderate humidity. It prefers to avoid frost.
Light: Full Sun or 20W per sq ft LED light. These will be dewiest and most colorful under bright light or sun.
Water: Distilled or Reverse Osmosis water. Sitting in 0.5”-1” of water using tray method.
Soil: 50% Peat: 50% Perlite/Sand is a good mix or a peat based mix with good drainage.
Feeding: Feed leaves with Fish Food Powder every month or so.
